About

Just a cut-n-paste from my Facebook page…

Activities:
Design, playing with vinyl, getting a good book in here and there, the new Honda CF450, ocean fishing (if I just had a boat…), a good evening with friends, a day at dog beach with my dyno-mutt Willie…
Interests:
Design and the influence it has on culture and people, space fascinates me… wow, two interests. I’ll have to come back to this one…
Favorite Music:
Going to go with the old cliche of “Everything”. I’m one of those people who has playlist set up in their iPod and iTunes to correlate to very specific moods that I may or may not be in… If you found my iPod you’d find everything from Marlena Shaw to Alicia Keys, Ben E King to Jamirouquai, Max Sedgley to Sly and the Family Stone, Derrick Carter to Modest Mouse, the Roots to Bruce Springsteen, the Flaming Lips to the Velvet Underground, Zero 7 to Ben Harper, Handsome Boy Modeling School to Against Me,Roni Size to Sade, yes, I even have a few country songs on there… I also like to play records on the 1’s and 2’s… things like Derrick Carter and Mark Farina would play for those who know…
Favorite TV Shows:
Another cliche for you: “I don’t watch much TV”. Running your own studio takes alot of time and energy from you, so at the end of the day I have just enough mental capacity to get through an episode or two of Cops. I’m digging the “buy-the-series-on-dvd-and-skip-the-commercials-and-watch-the-whole-season-in-a-day” route. I got into Lost that way and am making my way through all 6 seasons of Curb Your Enthusiasm–which in my opinion is the funniest damn show ever. The Chappelle show is not bad either…
Favorite Movies:
The Big Lebowski, Fargo… anything Coen (although I have not seen Blood Simple yet and I hear it’s a damn fine movie) The Salton Sea,Bourne series, STAR WARS, House of Flying Daggers–any of the new school epic-saga type martial arts flicks actually, anything Scorsese or Coppola… this list could take days…
Favorite Books:
A bunch of design books that you probably never heard of, the Short Timers, just started A Million Tiny Pieces, The Stand by Stephen Kings scared the hell out of me when I read it, The Art of Happiness (really need to re-read that one) I have a list of books from Mike (my business partner) that I need to read starting with Standing on the Shoulders of Giants
Favorite Quotes:
“Darkness warshed over the Dude – darker’n a black steer’s tookus on a moonless prairie night. There was no bottom.” – The Stranger
About Me:
An explanation as complicated as this one would be is best discussed over a beer or two…
